Summer is in full swing and I finally got my first gnarly sunburn of the year this week. While I try my hardest to make sure I am constantly lathering up the sunscreen while I’m at the pool, I am a ginger and sunburns do happen. Whoops.
But with summer and a new quarter, it’s really time to bury myself down into work in all aspects and get this done.
I have two main goals this year: obviously to publish my book, working title Project Whisper, and the other one is to find a new job. I don’t want to talk too much about finding a new job because I don’t want to advertise it everywhere but as I come up to ten years since graduating college, I really feel the need for a reset (I published my first novel a month before graduating college).
But both of these big life goals have a lot of steps to get to them and I don’t expect to hit either of these in July, but this is the time to get back to work and focus on what I can do to see these goals fulfilled later on in the year.
July Goals
Writing Goals
outline the next draft of Project Whisper
start the next draft of Project Whisper
start thinking of marketing ideas for Project Whisper
reach out to beta readers for this book
Reading Goals
Read 12 books
organize my TBR cart
Life Goals + Plans
really pick up on networking
set up a portfolio website for some of the creative projects I’ve worked on
clean out my closet and donate some clothes
maybe join a gym
get back to journaling, even if it’s just marking down daily stats in Notion
Really when it comes to monthly goals, I break them down from my quarterly goals and the projects that I know are coming from there. And it’s time to get back to work.
